Taínos is a unique pure linen fabric based on zemis (stone idols) made by the indigenous people of the Caribbean and Florida. Descended from Arawak Indian settlers, the flourishing Taíno culture of art, music and magical rituals was similar to Mayan civilisation in the 11th century. The zemis themselves are considered among the best examples of New World sculpture, depicting supernatural deities and spirits in polished porous stone.
Illustrated using ink and traditional Chinese calligraphy paint brushes, each design has been painstakingly captured on paper, then digitally printed on the finest linen. Available in your choice of bright or neutral colours, Taínos is a true treasure of the ancient world.
